Back in Siena!

Dear Blog, 

Though traveling is very fun, I am very happy to be back in Siena. The day after we got back I walked around for 3 hours to places I had never seen. I drew doors I had never looked at, balconies I hadn't taken the time to admire. I just downloaded the apple fitness app as well & I have such an intense drive to meet my fitness goal every day so that was another reason for me to walk around. I did a lot of walking around. I passed a familiar tree I thought was so ugly but I saw that it had started to sprout leaves and suddenly it didn't seem so ugly anymore. I felt kind of bad that I had used it as a landmark, calling it the "ugly tree" in my head. It was not ugly, this tree has probably seen so much. I bet it has been alive at least 30 years more than me. 

After all my walking, I laid in the piazza, very content. I only had my sketchbook and a couple pens on me so I had no fear of anyone trying to rob me or anything. For some reason it is really drilled into my head that I will be pickpocketed, so even when I am peaceful I am still kind of on edge. But not that day. That day I lay in the sun, listened to music about love and watched clouds pass. I watched kids run around the piazza and play soccer, old couples take photos, dogs sleep in the sun, people eat sandwiches and smoke. It is very nice to be back in Siena.
