A Visit to a Farm in Spannocchia

Dear Blog,

On Friday, may 16th, we went to a farm.

They produced wine, grew vegetables & herbs, but most importantly, raised pigs to make cured meats with. We were going there for a class to do a tasting of these cured meats for our food science class.

We took a tour of the farm. It was so open and it smelled green.
We went in an 800 year old tower.

This is the view from the 800 year old tower.
I liked looking at everything from up there.
Lots of great views!

They had a cute pond, spot the turtle!

Then we did a tasting of the meats
We tasted six different cuts
5/7 of them were great!
The only one I did not particularly like was one made from scraps of like bones and unfavorable cuts of meat. It looked like a sedimentary rock. Not great. Everything else was great though!

Then we had an amazing meal and after that we ran all around the farm playing games we played in our childhood, like red rover and tag and down by the banks, etc. I also filmed some for a music video I want to make and it was so fun!

Then we took the bus back and I listened to Soak Up the Sun by Cheryl Crow the whole way home.
